Here is a vid of some fight training I did in the Philippines. I had a great time, and would be more than happy to guide anyone going to that side of the world to some great places. The coaches you see me working with/sparring with are pro fighters (one of my sparring partners in this vid had 30 pro fights) and world champion boxers and muay thai fighters.

    Check it out!

Yeah, I did feel a lot shorter when I returned back to the States :)

I didn't actually see a lot of TKD, but that was probably because I hung out with boxers and muay thai fighters all the time. :) I know it used to be super popular, and probably still is, though.

Hey, who were you training Lightning Scientific Arnis with?

That looks like a hell of a fun "vacation".

Looks like a good time! What are some of the places where you trained? I'm heading to the Philippines later this year. Maybe I could check some of them out.

I trained with Master Jon Escudero's LSAI group in Manila, and I also trained with the Sankil LSAI group in University of the Philippines.

Yeah, it was amazing. I highly recommend going over there and checking it out. I'll tell you the best places to go.

Check out my website, it has some good info for anyone traveling to the Philippines. I update it periodically, so keep checking back.

    Places to Train

It really depends where you will be staying. I am most familiar with Manila, so I can give you some places there.

For Boxing and Muay Thai, check out Master Emmanuel B. Sabrine in Las Pinas City, Elorde Boxing Gym (go to their website - many locations around Manila), and Balboa Boxing Gym (Balboa is located at Don Antonio, off of Commonwealth Ave.)

For Arnis, I trained with Lighting Scientific Arnis at Club 650 in Libis, and with Sankil LSAI in University of the Philippines. I also know people who have trained with Pekiti Tersia in Manila, and they enjoy that also.

Bodyguard training I did with Executive Protection Center in Manila.

Check out my website for useful info on the Philippines. You might even enjoy it :)

Too bad you didn't try ULTRA, bro. The MAP (Muay Association of the Philippines) is based there

Sweet. We just had Guro Jon out for a seminar a couple of months ago, and are looking at getting him out to the states a couple of times a year.
