Principal throws student

Ken Fells, a 15-year employee of the Halifax Regional School Board, was removed from his post at Graham Creighton junior high school in Cherry Brook, N.S., after an altercation with a student on March 3.
The young male student allegedly took "inappropriate" photos of a female student on his cellphone, then refused to turn it over to teachers. When Fells was called over, the student again refused to comply and attempted to take off down the hall, causing the principal to forcibly stop him.

The school board has remained mum on Fells' case and the incident, calling it a "personnel matter," but details have trickled out through parents and students.
Last week, the board voted to shuffle the veteran educator out of that role, but did not fire him.
The RCMP has previously said it will not lay any charges.

Bullshit IMO. Sure, the student maybe acted like a prick, but the principals reaction is uncalled for. Does the school have the right to physically restrain students? Throwing the guy and holding him in that nelson looks like assault to me.

I would be pissed if this is my child. Well, I would probably be pissed if I'm the father of the girl he took pictures off too.

Assuming that 'inappropriate' means what I think it means, that kid had child pornography on his phone. Not cool.

If the Principle would just beat the one kid to death, the others would learn to be more careful with their cell phones and kiddy porn.

(that was not a throw...I've been thrown...that was just not a throw...I would like to demonstrate a throw on the little bastard...for informational purposes and stuff...)

I have a daughter. If that kid had taken “inappropriate” photos of her and I got a hold of him… well let's not go their.

I got no problems with what the principle did, good for him.

Well, I have a feeling he took a picture of somebodies fully clothed ass. Just a hunch.

This is why it's important to have SROs. One thousand public schoolers confined to an acre of space requires a police presence.

If the allegations are true, that kid committed a felony and the principle had every right to stop him using reasonable force. That level of force looked perfectly reasonable to me.

Then again, it was of a pubescent person, so it's just asshole behavior falling into a particularly nasty crack in the law.

Considering it was the student that got physical first, throwing him to the floor was warranted. I wouldn't know about dragging him around in a half nelson without an audio track, which I doubt is available. Teachers have to take enough **** without having to worry about physical violence.

Crappy technique, though, but it got the job done.
