    AKs have their advantages, but they're not Magic Boomstick Medicine Poles. They just have very loose tolerances and a robust gas system. They do break and they do malfunction.

    Don't take that as a defense of HK, because let's face it: you suck, and they hate you. But different rifles have different strengths.

    And NGNK, it's unfair and it sucks, but the reality is that you need to pay the cost to be the boss. You want to make the rules, provide the household and then you're in charge.

    Generally, it's best to get your own place, where you can do what you want, including storing a rifle. The whole exposure to the elements thing, if you are a gun noob, then you won't be able to provide the care/maintenance required for these weapons. Period.
