first post, looking for some help!
Hey guys my name is Ryan and I'm from Los Angeles. I'm looking for a place to study Kung Fu in the West L.A./Santa Monica area. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction. So far I have only found three places: Beijing Kung Fu acadamy (http://www.beijingkungfu.com), LA Wing Chun (http://www.lawingchun.com), and White Tiger Kung Fu (http://www.whitetigerschools.com). If anyone has any experience with these or could point me to a better place I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks.
Can I ask why you want to do Chinese Martial Arts in particular?
ive always been attracted to chinese martial arts. it looks fun. =)
So you are looking for fun only? Cool, can't help you with that if CMA is your idea of fun. My idea of fun might differ from yours. Good luck in your search, welcome to Bullshido. Hopefully someone can help you find a CMA that is not only fun, but teaches you how to fight as well.
so do you have anything useful for me? just because i said it looks like fun doesnt mean that i dont want to learn how to fight...so does anyone have any tips for a good cma place i could go to in the santa monica/west la area?
im not trying to sound like a dick but im here for help not to be insulted.

Mufasis: If it's just the type of movement from CMA that you like, I recommend Capoeira. It's incredibly fun and acrobatic. AND, a lot of CApoeira schools share space or also have BJJ classes. For example, Ruben 'Cobrinha' Charles is a badass blackbelt in BJJ and also an accomplished capoerista.
Capo will give you about the most fun you can get outside of sex, and BJJ will teach you to kick ass. It's win/win.
If the old saying that "anyone can get anywhere in LA in an hour" is still true, you'll want to study CMA here:
If you want to stick very close to home, of the three you list the Beijing Kung Fu place is likely the best—take the Sanda courses.
Rivington, thank you very much. Yeah I think it's almost impossible to get anywhere in Los Angeles in less than an hour now days.
