i have also gotten people to suggest san shou , shidokan(kykoushin karate off shoot) because these arts include striking plus judo like throws and locks.
The "MMA" your currently studying doesn't include striking plus judo like throws and locks?

No basically its a two hour and a half class of muay thai then bjj/ submission grappling. we learn sweeps double/ single leg takedowns, then submission.

They dont focus to much on judo arm and wrist throws because they say they have low chance of being succesful in MMA events . I trained at kage one in southern illinois in college. Im back in chicago now so im looking for a new place to train.

Pirate-Jitsu's the game, you should wear the garb and carry a few flint locks on you, that should keep the scalawags in check.

a dbl leg take down is in fact a judo throw(not just a judo throw but ALSO a judo throw) morote-gari i believe.

wrist throws? i think you meant waist by which i assume you meant hip(Lols).
I might be wrong as i am still pretty new to judo but i don't believe wrist throws are a big part of judo. Hip throws sure are though and desite my noob-ness i have actually been able to pull off the following judo techs. in free sparring:
    uchi-mata
    kouchi-gari
    drop seo-nage!!!!!!!
and some tech i whose name escapes me.(wrap the hips from the side, plant foot behind ukes feet and sit down)
Granted against fellow noobs and none of them looking to pretty but they WORK.

The program you we're with actually sounds pretty badass. But judo would make it badasser

Judo arm and wrist throws? You've been misinformed.

Sounds like your training was perfect... If you were able to avoid him getting a hold of you, long enough for the cops to get there and for you not to get hurt... Your mma is treating you fine!
