I personally like side kick (any variation).
Also front leg hook kick, get it down and you won't see it coming.
Thanks Bill Wallace for that one.

I'm curious because I've never seen a point to the kick beyond kicking rubber knives out of people's hands during demos. If anything the motion works better if you keep it chambered and don't kick, using it as a leg block vs. front kicks as you close.
In the past my crescent kicks seemed to always be more effective during sparring than any of my other kicks. Although I wasn't sparring 'world class' athletes, on two occasions I almost knocked someone's head gear off with what I like to refer to as double-crescent kicks. Think of a windshield wiper-like motion with the outside crescent followed by an inside crescent kick. :D
Plus, the crescent kick is pretty. ;)
Sure the roundhouse kick packs more of a punch, but what I like about the crescent is that, while the roundhouse kick is like a punch square on the face, the crescent kick is a little more like a hard slap or backhand with enough momentum to spin the target around a little.

My favorite is the 360 hook although it's kinda more for show and not combat effective (in most cases)
