My dad has one of the regular Judge models. He typically carries it around with him when he's cruising around the acres on his Gator and he shot a pretty big rattlesnake with it just the other day. He used .410 buck at pretty close range and said it fucked it up pretty well. First shot basically split it in half, and he followed up with a head shot that put it down.

I've shot .45 long colt through it. I am an inexperienced pistol shooter (just autos, mostly 9mm and .22) and this is the only revolver that I have shot, but the recoil didn't seem to bad and it was pretty accurate at 5 yards or so.

As for concealed carry, I'm all for carrying the max firepower that you can and will carry, but it just seems gimmicky to me. If it's a high-powered revolver that you are looking for, why not a .357 snub instead? Probably easier and cheaper to shoot and will definitely do the job.

I actually already own a .357, as mentioned above, I just like the different types of ammo and possibility of putting a .45 hole in someone from a tiny revolver is appealing.

For cost of ammo, I don't imagine firing this too much, aside from fun days at the range where we want to blow **** up. I've got the 1911, .357, and wife's 9mm to play with (along with whatever mouse gun she wants).

Yeah, like I said in the previous post, I'm fairly confident I'm going to purchase the weapon, I'll just have to decide if I'm going to make it my carry weapon or if it's just going to be a range gun, or if I'm going to get a good holster for my 1911. I'll make sure to give my take on it once I get it and can get to the range.

    Thanks all.

Arise dead thread! Breathe once more!

Emevas, did you ever get around to purchasing one of these fine weapons (if not, are you still planning on it?)? I'm really curious to hear a first-hand account.

Haha, way to bump my thread with a similar title so I end up looking uncreative.

I ended up not getting one. I just couldn't justify it as a self defense weapon. Until I see more info on the .410 handgun rounds, it would just be a .45lc handgun, which given the pirce, I'd rather just go .45acp (hence my topic about the Glock 36). There are also too many reports about the cyllinder getting stuck on the Judges to be reassuring.

I might pick one up as a range gun, but I've been picking up too many of these, and still don't have a decent concealed carry weapon.

It was your thread with a similar title that reminded me I never heard the resolution to this one. It struck me as a gimmick weapon then, I was just wondering if I was wrong.
