New York MMA Examiner Style: magic FUCKING powers!--
The best martial art for self defense is and always will be playing half-back. The only problem is finding good people to practice with if you're not good enough to do it semi-pro or pro.

Were is judo or sambo? It falls in the category of jiujitsu?
Seems also weird that 3/5 of the best ones have parts or elements of Wing Chun in them. It actually confuses me cuz I though bullshido doesn't really like Wing Chun.
So, the art as discipline sucks or its ok but the dojos are Mc? (I mean the way it's taught, the claims of the sifu/students, and the no sparring stuff) -

Style: judo--
my list would be: judo, bjj, sambo, boxing, thai boxing, wrestling. Not sure what to ranks first or last. basically competitive fighting mixed with commonsense.
I have trained krav mage and aikido before and I can definitely beat up my old krav maga/aikido instructor today. No pun intended to any instructor of these arts. there is probably somebody good out there.
Edit:
here is a thing. I train judo and my ground game is not what it should be. therefore I think bjj would be better for me because I haven't built my ground game.Last edited by Uglybugly; 5/24/2010 4:23pm at .

that is beside the point. standing grappling skills are generally more useful in a self defence scenario.
the list should be
10. Being big
9. Lifting weights
8. Rugby/American Football
7. Full contact Karate
6. BJJ
5. Boxing/Muay Thai/Sanshou
4. Judo/Sambo/Wrestling
3. MMA
2. Gun-fu
1. STFU-fu"The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero projects his fear onto his opponent while the coward runs. 'Fear'. It's the same thing, but it's what you do with it that matters". - Cus D'Amato
