Why you would go to Canada for your first Pankration tournament, rather than one of the ones put on by FightLeague.org I don't understand. Several of the Pankration tournaments here have been total clusterfucks, depending on who runs them. Expect the rules you read online to be thrown out the window, weight classes to be changed the day of, the director to cherry pick who fights whom and even the rules covered in the rules meeting to be ignored. Oh yeah, and everyone sandbags. Nobody goes in the advanced division, you'll even sometimes fight some guys with pro MMA experience in the beginner (6 months or less) division.
