    You only got to see snippets of the Tai Chi sparring, but the takedowns were pretty good. And remember this was done in 1988. You saw contact with small gloves, takedowns, and some follow through on the ground. Not great compared to todays standards, but that was pretty good for the time.

    Push Hands is definitely a form of wrestling. Surely anything where you try to off balance your opponent is?

    A lot of schools don't even do that though. Just work on the modernised forms and Qi Gong.

    We do push hands at almost every practice. But it is a drill not actually wrestling. It is applicable to wrestling though. Doing push hands has helped my wrestling by teaching me rooting and sinking.

    I disagree. That is still pretty good for a large majority of Tai Chi in this day and age.
