PS: It is hilarious that IIF cited The Onion.

Again this is basically a case of guilt by association. I have heard people who are actively courted and supported by the NRA make comments to the effect of "When you see someone with an obama sticker on the road, pull them over and ask hows that hopey changey thing working for ya?" Followed by a graphic of sniper scopes over the images of liberals and democrats with the general idea of "We need to take aim at these people to get them out of office." Also the "We need to issue permits to hunt liberals to thin out the heard." Then after these and other acts are poorly defended as "I was just kidding/ using satire" these people are asked to speak at the biggest gathering of the NRA all year and given money in the form of campaign contributions and speaking fees. Don't get me started on how Nugent as a board member acts. I'm sorry but I can't support that and I do not see that kind of behavior from the ACLU. They may defend nazis but they probably don't give them donations and probably don't endorse the nazi party simply because they both want free speech. But let it be known that I appreciate what the NRA does as far as my gun rights. They free up the ACLU to fight for every other right we have.

When i was in the army we learnt how to convert our issued SLR L1A1 to full auto using a match stuck in the trigger mechanism... although i never really did it (except to try it out) since i also agree that i am far more dangerous with a semi-auto than full auto.

Do you realize that in the above you say you are listening to people and you see a graphic of a sniper scope (reticle) over the images of liberals and democrats.
I understand your statements for not supporting the NRA. Are you a dues paid member of any 2nd amendment protecting organization?

See how well it works for you.
There's a lot more to it than you think. Modifications to the bolt and frame to make room for your new parts for instance...
I'm also surprised that you didn't come across a DIAS in your "search". Kind of makes me think you don't know what you're talking about...

It is my humor that failed sir.
The mechanical principles are sound, but the video really oversimplifies it.
A lot of the information out there about FA "conversions" is BS. Most of it just produces a weapon that "slam fires" as soon as the bolt closes home. (discharges rounds until the clip is empty.) Despite that not really being a functioning "FA", and basically just a dangerous malfunctioning piece of crap, you can still earn a lengthy vacation to club fed for messing up a gun like that.
