Donnie never found his niche role, unlike Jackie and Jet. Jackie's been playing the Drunken Master in every movie since then, and the majority of Jet's roles have been retreads of his Wong Fei Hong character.

Which is actually why I like Yen's movies better. Despite that god awful Dragon Tiger Gate hair, he has been willing to try new stuff

    THIS.

Rather than playing caricatures of past roles, Yen has repeatedly looked for new ground as an actor, which is something I really respect. The same goes for Sammo Hung and Colin Chou, neither of whom ever got really popular in the States.

Didn't know the sequel came out already, thanks for the link! Review forthcoming...

Sammo had that TV show with Arsenio, which while terrible, did provide a pretty good exposure rate. For me, Collin Chou suffers from the same affliction as Jet Li: personality deficiency. Jet Li pretty much handed the guy a golden ticket to US exposure in the Matrix role, but didn't capitalize on it. He has twice the talent of a Robin Shou but half the charisma.

...And, in retrospect, can someone please tell the Chinese that there are actually good people in Britain?

Holy crap! Yen AND Sammo Hung in the same movie!? I didn't catch Yip Man 1 but damn I'm interested now. I wonder if it can top Prodigal Son....

I think this movie is awful. Yip Man 1 was very good try to see that one. There is another movie that covers the early years of Yip Man that looks promising. Sammo and Yuen Biao are in it and its staring Tony Leung.
