I have a Lynn Thompson story- my aunt (who works for a cutlery distributor) was flying out to some blade show, and Lynn Thompson was going too. Somehow they started talking about weapons on planes and such, and Lynn enthusiastically said that without a weapon "I STILL HAVE THESE!" and held up his hands in the cliche karate chop hand position. It became the running joke of the trip.
Despite his "shape", Lynn is a highly trained martial artist and in pretty good shape, & nobody's fool. The funny bit is that the "joke" would be on whoever failed to take him seriously.
