I remember seeing the Cold Steel video "Spear Self Defense". I wish I had gotten that one.

I personally own their Sjambok (which would freaking hurt if done at full force) and their African Walking Stick, which sucks as a walking stick but could do some damage.

I've always been a big fan of the cold steel Grosse Messer:

    YouTube- Cold Steel Grosse Messer

Looks like it has better cutting power than the Zweihänder.

    Also gotta love their warhammer:

Also is it just me or does the shorter fat guy look like he is almost going to fall over when he is swinging any of the weapons especially the big swords?

Yes (check my new profile pic and what is in my right hand), but I'd still opt for the 00. The sword and knife are by my bed side table just to buy me time to get the shotgun.

Before I had a kid to worry about, I used to keep various blunt instruments and edged weapons in strategic yet out of easy line of sight locations around the house with the least effective being towards the perimeter and the most being closest to the bed. With a four year old, I can't really keep edged weapons and loaded firearms out in the open any more, though.

I've never handled the Cold Steel repro, but I had an original. Damn thing reminded me of an over glorified machete. Seeing as Collins (known for their machetes) got the contract, it makes sense.

I have a Dutch M1898 Klewang, which was the inspiration for the M1917. Someone started to make it into a half-assed espada ancha. I bought it for the scabbard, imagine that. Someday, when I have time, I'll finish the thing.

I heard a story about Lynn Thompson, but I think it's apocryphal. It involves him trying to call out an 80 something Rex Applegate at a knife show.

Although I can't really imagine when I would need to defend myself with a spear, I also saw that one and liked it.

If true, that was way uncool of him. Probably weapon side leading vs weapon side back crap.

I have a Lynn Thompson story- my aunt (who works for a cutlery distributor) was flying out to some blade show, and Lynn Thompson was going too. Somehow they started talking about weapons on planes and such, and Lynn enthusiastically said that without a weapon "I STILL HAVE THESE!" and held up his hands in the cliche karate chop hand position. It became the running joke of the trip.
