one thing that i cant shake from my head is that this kid might actually deserve a black belt per the standards of his school.

something to think about, if a mentally challenged teen, who is over weight, under coordinated, has chronic asthma, and the mental capabilities of a 4th grader can make a legit claim to a black belt, should you continue spending time/money at this school?

If a parent with a special needs child walk into your dojo and wants to enroll their child, do you 1) turn them away 2) explain he will be able to train just never reach a dan rank because of his disabilities and as dan rank must be able to kick ass and take names 3) understand that the parent is just trying to let their child do something normal that other kids do, and look to see if the child then puts in as much effort as he is capable of and reward him on that premise. Most junior black belts that are awarded dont mean **** as far as fighting skill anyway, so once again i dont feel like this is a big deal.

Why do you keep adding to your caveats?

Yes, and some people do. Your anger over this issue is silly.

**** it, why not make him UFC champ? It would make him feel good, right. And at least he doesn't have a cock sword on his chest.
