Also, there is no "let's train for this scenario" argument. You train for the worst scenario and go form there if you are going to train.

That's kinda why I'm not really in favor of spending a ton of time doing the knife sparring training. It would be much better to spend time training unarmed defenses against knife. I've even read about reputable FMA instructors in the PI who don't even teach their students knife techniques until they can "survive" training knife attacks 3 times out of 4 or better. That way, they actually understand what's going on & what a knife attack entails, the seriousness of it, etc.

The defense would be not hitting the perp with a bottle, which is what goaded the assailants into action.

Though I'm sure there's much more in play here.

But still, the moral of the story is don't bring your fists to a sword fight.

either run like a ************ , or have a fully loaded semi auto or fully auto weapon and shoot every last one of them.

really there is no defence against a group of guys especially if they are skilled that are armed with weapons such as those. Only in Jackie Chan or Jet Li movies will one guy survive without a nick and kill the attackers.
