An individual who practices energy cultivation has to comply with the shared form. Unless the shared form is respected there cannot be a transfer of "higher/sublime" energy into the space/territory of the majority which represents the more crude energetic state of body and mind.
Comlpliance with the shared form does not per se prescribe the assimilation of the shared form together with its function. Ergo: A martial arts master cannot teach for money without corrupting his/her energy.

A few years back I had a confontation with an idiot calling himself "calmthemonkeymind" on a Swedish MA-forum. He was a Bruce Lee and Boztepe nuthugger that believed modern western medicine was designed to make us sick in order to make money for "the Government", He was also convinced that anecdotal evidence (a single case, himself) of TCM having a positive effect was suffient proof of its efficiency.
I'm getting a familliar feeling from reading this drivel, though the change in language makes me hesitate....

Some food for thought for the new age hippie types.
The concept of Yin and Yang was initially Confucian, and only became merged with the symbol of Taiji (supreme ultimate) at a later point.

the taoist ti chi symbol means balance. The pinwheel is a symbol of the sun or a comet. It is a symbol of power, which is why the nazis used it. It has a history with the tibetans and the freemasons. - from memory

Note the direction of the rotation of both the Taiji symbol, and the Falun (swastica.) There's a reason it's going in a certain direction...
