Advance notice of a gathering planned for London next year:
The conference venue is still to be confirmed, but the Society hopes to be able to secure space in the magnificent County Hall building on the South Bank of the river Thames.
The County Hall is a prime example of Edwardian Gothic architecture, standing directly opposite Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey and adjacent to the famous London Eye Ferris wheel. County Hall itself houses a number of popular attractions including the London Film Museum and the Sea Life London Aquarium.
Conference participants will experience an immersive two and half days of specialised classes with Bartitsu instructors in subjects such as “Fisticuffs”, “Boxing vs. Jiujitsu”, “Self Defence with a Walking Stick” and “The Best of All These Methods: Bartitsu Cross-training”.
A pleasant stroll across Westminster Bridge will take them to our planned after-hours venue, the Sherlock Holmes public house, a classic Victorian-style London pub featuring a themed upstairs restaurant and a historic replica of Holmes’ and Watson’s living room/study, there to enjoy dinner, drinks and socialising as well as parlour lectures on subjects of interest to Bartitsu enthusiasts.

There may be a seminar in your neck of the woods later this year.

That's literally on the other side of the Thames. Hmm. The Sherlock Holmes? I might have a light ale after work (and during) in the past. You need a govt pass to get in, if I remember correctly.
I can't see a date but that's why I wear Bins. Any update gratefully received.

We've run in to a series of bureaucratic problems in securing the "perfect" venue. We'll be able to update as soon as those are sorted out, but it's really been much more difficult than it should have been ..

Dagnabbit. I've had at least a casual interest in Bartitsu for a while myself. Sadly, I'm nowhere near where this seminar is happening...
I'll have to look around and try to find a seminar close enough to Ohio to justify my driving around there.

There are some Bartitsu guys in your neck of the woods, including Kirk Lawson, who is a frequent contributor to this forum.

Oh? I'll have to give a check around and see what I can find.
With my finally having steady work I'd decided to send away for Volume One of the Compendium recently as well.
While I have few qualms about looking around for things to add to my, incredibly newbish, MMA game I'd love to find a few people I could practice the old syllabus with.

Just checked the site and there's no mention of any dates, any updates? Would like to attend, but it all depends on schedules...
