First reported by Fighters Only Magazine, then MMAJunkie and now to every single person on my phone's contact list; Randy Couture will face James Toney at UFC 118 in Boston which is scheduled to go down in August.
Yeah, I didn't believe it either.
Currently, the weight division in which this bout will take place is yet to be determined, however the bout will likely headline the card or be a co-main event. Pitting the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion against a dude that has a 0-0 record in MMA seems on paper to be a really, really bad idea. Well, a really bad idea unless you're talking about James Lights-Out Toney. The MMA world will finally see how to properly execute a shoulder roll...if Randy Couture doesn't take him down before.
Despite this bout being four months away, here's a video of James Toney doing what he does best (and it's not making poorly produced vlogs).

UFC 118: AGE in the CAGE!
i'll believe it when the athletic commission signs off on it.
Wow this is going to piss off Anderson Silva. He's been begging to fight a boxer for 2 years.
What can this possibly open at? Couture -500?
If it opens that even put some money down. By the time this fight happens it's gonna be couture at -1700.
Couture will immediately shoot and TKO Toney from mount or half-guard. Toney will claim to have been unhurt, the ref is a ***** for stopping it and so on, then take his one-fight pay and refuse to darken the door of the octagon again.
I am a fan of James Toney and this whole thing makes me slightly depressed.
you know, liddell v couture 3 was one of the first mma fights i watched.
You should have posted a more recent picture of Toney.
He may be fat and old but Toney was such a high calibre boxer that its foolish to totally write him off even now.
If Couture is sensible he'll take him down and win via GNP or a quick submission. If he's not he'll get knocked out.
