    shufu promotional 2010

At the promotional tournament yesterday I went 3-1. I had my first match with a black belt, the one I lost, but that was the highlight and I hope to compete up in the black belts again soon.

This match was rather ugly. Despite winning, i'm not really content with my performance. In the background you can hear OSPF talking with my moms.

I also have some cell phone clips of the match with the black belt which i'll upload ASAP

He's got a purple belt tag, so he'd be the gent with the purple belt.

It's a judo tourney so that's not relevant. I'm on the right.

My mistake. Isn't your belt purple in the video, though?

No, it's blue for scoring purposes

I'd have just thought you were the one who was going against the black belt, you know, like you said. Deductive reasoning, if there is a black belt and a coloured belt and someone says they are fighting a black belt, it's safe to assume they are the coloured belt. But that is neither here nor there.

We'll always be critical of our wins, when you stop being critical it can mean your ego has taken over to convince you of invincibility. And that's the real loss.

Is there not a penalty in Judo for just falling down on your back ineffectively? The second time you tried that sacrifice throw it looked like it didn't work out and you just sort of splatted. Is that not scored against you? Also, I thought pinning was a win condition in Judo, you had the guy totally pinned under mount a couple of times, is that not a win for you right there?
