I just finished the comic in one sitting as i was going to bed two nights ago. I don't understand how we now have to hate on comic book movies that stick to the source material, we used to be the opposite. Sirc is right on, imo.

That **** annoys me. I hate people because their opinions are **** and generally fickle.

    Right.

I always took the title as purposeful irony. BD and Hit-Girl are the ones that "Kick-Ass."

The main character sucks and the fact that he is named "Kick-Ass" just lends to the absurdity of the inherent Irony.

I have to agree with Steve as well.

Okay I've not read the comics or seen the movie but I do have a question about the comics. Does Kick-Ass take place on Earth-616 or one of the others?

Here's hoping for a spinoff just called "Hit Girl" where Kick-Ass gets brutally murdered within 15 minutes of the movie starting and Hit-girl goes on a quest for revenge that involves endless over the top slaughter ala the last half of Rambo 4.

I believe that it happens in our Earth which is like Earth-something. I forget.

(Gawd... I am such a geek...)
I think it's sometimes refered to as the "Millarverse" after the writer.

No connection to Marvel Universe, Ultimates, Zombies, etc...

Oh, you guys were being goofy, weren't you? *nevermind*

Also, while I'm all for a movie in which Hit Girl seeks bloody vengeance with beheadings, eviscerations, amputations, and a generally high body count a la Rambo 4... can we leave out the hog scene from Rambo 4? :new_shock

I actually found it hard to eat bacon for awhile after that, especially while my daughter sang "Circle of Life." And I love bacon.

BTW, we need a Hit Girl icon.
