Nobody hates Seagal more than me, but my spider sense tells me the truth lies somewhere in the middle on this one.

Seagal is a known douche-bag and misogynist, but this seems oddly overt and unrefined...even for him. A man with these proclivities is usually highly selective in grooming and acquiring his...er...playmates. The sort of arrangement in question is no different than Hugh Hefner's or any other wealthy megalomaniac's harem fantasy. It is not implicitly illegal or even all that socially unacceptable.

So why risk it all with Nguyen? If she was not amenable, why not just let her go? Why would he bring someone in who was not amenable to the arrangement in the first place? It's not like there is dearth of women (or men) willing to part with sexual favors for money out there. So what's the catch?

Either he truly is insane (entirely possible) and thinks all women want him all the time and is willing to punish and/or extort those who don't at great personal risk to himself; or something is awry with her story.

She isn't pressing charges, which either means that there is no actionable evidence of a crime (other than her own testimony of course); or that she is not interested in punishing her tormentor.

Or, of course, she COULD be just trying to extort HIM. This is why I believe the truth is in the middle.

What exactly happened we may never know, but what we do know is that she is leveling highly inflammatory criminal accusations in combination with a large cash lawsuit, but no criminal charges. We also know that Seagal is a known ego-maniac, compulsive liar, and general misogynist.

It don't smell right to me.
