Why don't they just get right to the point and make it a one-point deduction to be Thai or named 'Semmy'?

So their answer to fighters effectively utilizing the clinch is to pretend it doesn't exist until it goes away? Classy. It's not like the fighters should be training how to defend it or anything, just throw it out, that'll make everything all better.

How do you get more aggressive than kneeing the **** out of someone's face?

If they want real excitement they should ban blocking. Fighters feet should be laced into boots that are stitched to the canvas and forced to fight turn based style until one of them is out cold.

And all fighters should be required with their chins in the air.

In the name of aggressiveness and excitement.

This rule, as well as first clinch rule change, are retarded. The only advantage I can see in this is to make the matches more friendly towards fighters coming out of Japan, Korea, and China.

In recent years K-1 has grown very popular in Korea and they are starting to make in roads in China. If every year the most dominating fighters are Muay Thai stylists what does that say about Karate, San Da, and Tae Kwon Do? It says that they suck donkey balls and everyone shoud bow down to the Thais.

So instead of forcing everyone to look within their own syllabus and find a way to deal with the Thai clinching techniques they instead choose to enforce rules against it.

I will still watch K-1, just so I can see the Thai fighters quickly adjust to the new rules and beat the **** out of everyone anyway.

K-1 seems to be following in the fine tradition of Judo in cutting off its nose to spite its face.

The thing that gets me is that people are suggesting it's a response to Schilt's outside style. But really, the guy is 6'11", how else is he supposed to fight? Why wouldn't you use your reach and do everything you can to keep your opponent on the outside if you're taller than pretty much everyone else? This makes about as much sense as Dana White making a press release that says "So we're getting a lot of complaints about guys like GSP and Jon Fitch who are wrestling too much, and I guess people don't like that, so we're making the double-leg illegal." Except with a lot more bleeps.

Show me a seven foot tall infighter, and I'll eat my hat. I don't even own one, I'll go buy it specifically for this.
