Personally, in a Boxing match - I would rather have to deal with recovering from a low blow than a thumb to the eye..

    **** !
To be fair..any low blow I ever took I was able to shake off after a minute or so..and I didn't fight MT either. I imagine a knee to the groin would be substantially harder to shake off than a gloved punch..
I have always been sensitive about my eyes though, because I think losing your sight would really suck and its somethinig I have always been paranoid about.

Holy crap I am going to get a new cup ASAP.

If anyone saw your cup they probably would have just called it there.

LOL yea it was crazy the worst is when you get kneed to the balls and people start booing you cuz they think you are just playing around cuz you got hurt from a legitimate blow.

When i was getting ready for my muay thai fight i was really concerned about getting cuts to my face or a busted nose....my balls were the least of my worries.

After the fight i was limping around due to the pain in my groin and my face had not a single sign that a fight took place.

It was funny after the fight i showed people from my gym my cup and they could not believe what they saw either. I really think those groin shots took alot out of my cardio plus it being my first fight and being short notice as well didnt do me any good. My skill level was competitive but my fitness level was what got me the loss. Lesson learned i guess.

I got kneed in the junk full force in my last match.
Had a thai style steel cup but i still went down and the edge of the cup dug into my groin so hard i suffered a hematoma inside my thigh muscle.

Wear a cup. Protect yo balls.

Duane Thomas beat John "The Beast" Mugabi in a 3rd round TKO for the vacant WBC JR. Middleweight Title when Thomas thumbed Mugabi so hard he cracked his orbital socket and couldn't continue the fight.

Knee low blow by Nam phan at 0:40 first round and Joe Frainee took 1:35 to recover. Win by Nam Phan at 3:28 first round.

YouTube- Nam Phan vs Joe Frainee

This should be used as an example of a low blow fight summary.
    Any further suggestions?

Since it's hard to find so much details on every fight(I don't own any mma dvds) I'll just list fights with low blows and eye pokes in them with only the most relevant details. What you have to keep in mind is that the more active(better?) fighter is more likely to commit these fouls. It's also much easier to find DQs. But at first let's collect data.

No NCs listed, the evildoer is mentioned first.

W Dave Herman vs Kerry Schall
Knee to the groin resulted in a takedown and tko by punches on the ground, the ref didn't see it.

W GSP vs Matt Hughes 1
    Kicks to the groin

W Josh Koscheck vs Anthony Johnson
    Two eye pokes

    rest are DQs

L Daiju Takase vs Terry Martin
    DQ groin kicks

L Alex Andrade vs Krzysztof Soszynski
    DQ knees to the groin

L Jeremiah Constant vs Vernon White
    DQ groin kicks

L Nilson de Castro vs Akihiro Gono
    DQ groin strike

L Anton Cano vs Wes Sims
    DQ groin kick

L El Solar vs Minoru Suzuki
    DQ groin strikes

L Jong Wang Kim vs Eun Soo Lee
    DQ groin strikes

L Katsuya Inoue vs Yoshinori Oniki
DQ groin strikes and headbutt (Does anyone have a video of this?)

L Koike Kleber vs Yoshiro Maeda
    DQ groin shot

L George Sotiropoulos vs Shinya Aoki
    DQ groin strike

L Guy Mezger vs Minoru Suzuki
    DQ groin kick

L Quinton Jackson vs Daijiro Matsui
    DQ knee to the groin

L Joachim Hansen vs Tatsuya Kawajiri
    DQ groin kick

L Dan Hardy vs Yoshiyuki Yoshida
    DQ groin kick

Conclusion so far: If you foul make sure you don't get DQed and it will be an advantage.
Does anyone know other fight's with low blows and eye pokes in them that didn't result in DQ or NC ?

In a semi-contact sparring with my bro I got frustrated and landed a front nutcracker with very mild force. I thought he would be like "c'mon what do you think you're doing!?" and continue or something but he went down like a lump. There's a reason why every pro fighter wears a cup and even then low-blows are banned.

I guess this depends on the type of sparring you do. For me it's been 50/50. Almost every time I grapple, I manage to get my crotch jammed. It's a minor annoyance, but we just keep on rolling.

I suppose it's different if you are in a clinch and land one of those. I also suppose there has to be a way to accurately gauge this as opposed to go by anecdotal evidence. Problem sets in once you look for volunteers to take light knee shots to the groin and record their response.
