    The Art of Manliness

So I recently discovered a website known as artofmanliness.com. no www. for some odd reason. I figured I would see if any other Bullies are members and bring it to the attention of everyone. The site is dedicated to "Reviving the lost art of manliness" It has lots of fun and useful articles devoted to helping increase a man's manliness. I should also note that it isn't a chauvanistic site from what I have witnessed.

On a more Bullshido related note I joined a group in their community section entitled "Martial Artists" and replied to a few topics such as "Best fighting style for self defense and fitness and why?" and "Martial Art vs. Martial Sport". I was a little alarmed that a group of men searching to increase their manliness had a number among them who were extolling the "virtues" of Teh Chun and Tai Chi and whatnot.

Anywho, I just figured I would share this awesome site with everyone, and if you do check it out, feel free to back me up on the forums about alive training and teach these so called men to shun the Chun.

arthurshall.com is similar, but with the added benefit that it is not populated with preening poofs and nancy-boys.

    Also, more guns.

I dip in and out of the AoM site. They produce some interesting and fun, though not notably in-depth, articles and generally manage to be pro-masculine without being anti-anything else, which is no mean trick. I like their tongue-in-cheek approach to historical models of manliness, though I prefer the gentlemanly 1890s to the "Father Knows Best" 1950s.

The forums are worth looking into but I know the threads you're referring to and yes, it's a typical case of people simply putting forth whatever style they happen to like/have trained in/have heard good things about.

I'm comfortable with my overtly feminine traits and mannerisms.

I find sites like this amusing and I'm female

http://www.thechap.net/ is a very British publication, probably unsuitable for Americans who tend not to appreciate the importance of tweed, moustaches and hat doffing.

The owner of that site must have some serious self esteem problems.

I legitimately thought he was closeted or making a gigantic joke for a while. I've come to the conclusion that he is simply an intelligent guy who doesn't do....subtlety.

I'll quote an author I like very much:

The difference between stupid and intelligent people - and this is true whether or not they are well-educated - is that intelligent people can handle subtlety.
    Neal Stephenson
