    Yeah. That's restricted to some ultra-conservative university fraternities, though. From what I hear, it's more a test of courage than a real fighting style (and the distinctive scars serve as admission tickets into the networks of frat alumni).

    I really think this is mostly about the MMA-scene being 10 years behind the US in large parts of Europe. Sure, you can add a little WW2 trauma, but mostly it's the fact that it is regarded by most (if they have even heard about it) as some kind of biting and eye-gouging human cockfighting thing. Much like the US in the 90s.

    Mensur. Only cuts (not thrusts) to the face are allowed. As little flinching and movement as possible plz.
