People are not going to be very nice to you when you talk about this type of stuff. Mainly because there is a large amount of video evidence that 99% of Wing Chun sucks. As opposed to combat sports, which have been proven effective in the ring, on the street and in actual wartime combat.

The move you're referring to in your post above is called a sprawl. It comes from wrestling and was incorporated to deal with double and single leg takedowns, which are also from wrestling.

I would suggest you start an introductory thread in the Newbietown forum. Members are required to be civil there. That is not the case anywhere else on the site, and you are repeating some pretty tired and cliched Wing Chun arguments.

I hope you're young and ignorant because if you're not it means you're probably just stupid.

Only valid answer to this question. It's a lot more satisfactory to dominate a 250lb man than someone your own size.

But maybe the Martial Arts isn't for you.

    I'm 6'3", 300lb.

The biggest problem with big guys in martial arts is finding other big guys to train with. There is no one in my club that is even close to my weight, so when I go to compete I'm not used to dealing with people my own size.

In short, BIG GUYS NEED TO TRAIN JUDO MORE!

So that I have more people to play with.
I do not aspire to be great, or even good, I hope to suck a little less then last class.

You could try stacking one little guy on another little guy.

You know, we tried that but the crunching sound they make when they fall, followed by the piteous mewling, it's just disheartening.

There is a guy in my bjj class that is 6'7'' 330lbs.

He is a beast to roll with...but...it sure the **** makes me focus on technique over strength so I love rolling w/ the guy. I mean it sucks...but I learn a lot.
