Hey Bullshido.

I want to give the entire Bullshido family a huge thank you for opening my eyes. My sparring for myself and my school was always in an alive manour and will continue to be so. So I felt like I had the other areas in an alive manour as well. A few weeks ago my wife, who is my assistant instructor, came to me about our self defense and basics sections of our class. We had a very long talk about how they were feeling dead and very rigid(we later figured out it was from working for the YMCA, we had left a few months earlier), so they were in fact, dead. After looking it over, we threw out our entire self defense and basics training sections in our school and rebuilt them.

As of last night our students have a higher retention of techniques and are performing at a higher level. It is starting to look like my school did back 10 years ago.

My reason for saying thanks is, I don't think I would have looked at what we were doing wrong, if it weren't for this website. I have incorporated in some of the material from Gracie University(laugh, but it is working for us) and re-worked the SD techniques we had before. We are still a striking school, but we are less incompetent on the ground.

now just imagine what you could accomplish by bringing in someone from a local judo or bjj school.

Not sure what part of Kansas you are in but Team Triton is in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow side of Oklahoma. Maybe call or email them.

Yeah, that is about a 4&1/2 hour drive from my house. I have had some leads on a couple of places, but I have clients during their hours of operation. I work as a PT and I have a strong need to feed my family.

I am hoping for the miracle of some random BJJ or Sambo BB to move into the area but I am not lucky so far.

From what I know Oklahoma has a major MMA community, put some feelers out there for help if you are really interested in expanding/helping your curriculum.
