MA club selling strategies?

I was commenting on someone else post, You commented that I was wrong that it was not fake, Correct?
If this is a Fake or Manipulated photo, then hence Fraud or BS in Martial Arts, Correct? Goes for Pictures as well.
And Pardon me but you once again said I am Not correct that this is a fake photo...May I draw your attention to the top left where the STAFF is above the camera...
That is cut out...

That whole section is fake or manipulated...Even if you look at the left side of his face, you can see the places he missed or messed up, especially by the left ear and neck line...Please someone tell me they see that as well....

It's likely the photo was kept in a scrap book. The un-interesting background was chopped out as a bit of an artistic flourish. You're seeing that drop shadow because it was digitised by photographing the scrap book instead of scanning it.

Please go back and read my original analysis of this image. I did not say that you were incorrect about the image having been manipulated, I said you were incorrect about the portion of the image inside the razor-cut being manipulated. That is what's important. This site can not go around making accusations of forgery in cases where people have messed with images they own in a benign manner. What exactly are you proposing was cut out from behind the bookshelf and staff? Something incriminating? Like an orgy? FTR, it doesn't matter if you take an image of your 1st Dan Kodokan diploma and chop it up into 10 pieces, mail each one to a different person to scan, have them all emailed back to you and reassemble them yourself using photoshop. While you will likely get called out for tampering, if you haven't altered the relevant content, you have not acted to deceive.

I do know a little bit about this.

Here is an image of Sandi and Gogen together. Fortunately they are in the same stance, which acts to normalize their proportions. I think it's pretty clear by visual intuition that her height relative to his is about where you estimated it.

Is this sufficient, or are you going to demand a perspective distortion correction?

I can see where you are coming from War Wheel, thank you for taking the time to look at it. There is definitely a difference between false advertising, for example a cut and paste job that shows four people who never sat for a photo but two would like it to appear they all knew each other, and a bad marketing/ craft job.
I will not pursue this any further, the club has a long history, one of the longest in Australia for Karate. I spoke to one of its students last night and although it is a typical we-don't-spar-hard possible McDojo, I have no interest in investigating it for bullshido if the photo that piqued my interest isn't outright misleading and fraud.

Hehe, I agree with you; doesn't necessarily have to be malevolent.
However, since the persons have been cut out with scissors, it still looks creepy, like in one of those cheap 80s horror flicks.

You're right. The two distinct sets of shadow directions, with the drop shadow so much stronger than the shadows indicating depth, creates a really freaky haloween-like effect.
