I will definitely be in Honolulu from March 25-April 1. Anyone want to get together for the UFC on the 27th?
Also, Chen I will PM you, I have not forgotten your kind offer of a surfboard for me to fall off of.

I live on Oahu and just moved back from Seattle. I trained at the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute under Taky Kimura for a few years. I am still looking for people to specifically work on some things I learned in Seattle. If you are down for any training, message me please. Aloha!

First...Matsumotos is over rated. Train with me and I will take you to a better spot that even the locals dont know about. At Matsumotos you stand in a long ass line to eat shave ice thats not even half as good as my spot.
Second..Hanauma Bay is over rated. I think you actually have to pay to go and there are other places to snorkel thats less crowded.
Third...Want to learn to surf? Go to the Waikiki Beach Boys. They are legends and have been teaching surfing for decades. Even locals learn from them.

Beaches are over rated....all of them, imo. Sand and water.
That and I'm just defending I've finally decided to take a trip to Hanauma this weekend. Still haven't picked up surfing myself either, though everybody I know has recommended the WBBs.
Is this purely a JKD oahu meetup?
If so afraid I am out =/

27th is tentatively ok for me. Venue?
Where are you staying again? I remember you wanted to do Side Street...
Maybe we can plan a beach/bbq/surf day, maybe Makapu'u area.
Lemme know your training plans as well...
I'll wait for your pm.
Best shave ice is Waiola store, specifically the one near the McCully library.
Hanauma Bay will provide contact with more sealife than the rest of the island combined on any given day.
I have been surfing for around 30 years and have yet to meet a local that learned from the WBBs unless they were related, but i do have a friend that works down there teaching if that ends up being easier. Can do referral.

Not if i'm gonna show.

If it's not a JKD meetup only, any day this week is ok for me, and the 27th is fine for the evening...got work that morning.
Sealife is one reason I am going to the bay this weekend. I don't know if I'll be able to run the gauntlet and go to every event you guys have planned, but if you plan on a certain area to be at I'll try my best to make it to one of them.

Ice Garden in Aiea. They have the most flavors available and extras as well(chocolate, nuts, azuki, ice cream, etc.)
As for Waikiki beach boys, Im sure most locals haven't learned from them because they have an uncle or cousin or friend who does. I know many who have so sorry. As for tourist who never surfed before, the beach boys are a safe bet. In fact most of the surf schools in Waikiki are reliable. Hanauma bay is overrated because of the fact that since so many people go, it actually ruins the reef. Its the same reason that if you swim in Waikiki, you kind of feel oily even after you shower, its all the sun tan oil.
Sorry for trying to give advice dick face! Hanauma bay...how many locals go there? Exactly!

Didn't know the Throwdown forum offered up some posting gems these days.
I'm glad that poster came back, and realized that most of the Bullshido community here loves all martial arts equally.
