I have followed Barry for years; from K-1 to WCL to UFC. I have been following CroCop for much longer and I'm a huge fan of both. That said, I think Barry is going to take this. Very exciting match for a fan like myself!
I agree. I think Barry takes this. Time to pass the torch.

King at Rock just reposted this, so I think it's appropriate to post:

YouTube- Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic Legendary Highlights

(for the record, while I would like CroCop to make a comeback, that's no reason to ignore the much more likely possibility that Pat Barry will win.)

Hey, I'm big CC fan and alwqys support him whoever he fights. But, yeah, I'm feeling the same way about Pat. Except in this case, it seems appropiate to have a "passing of the torch", and I think Barry is the guy to do it. Here's to hoping it happens!

Barry does remind me of young, angry Cro Cop. Still, I can't root against him. I hope Mirko wins.

if it happens, i'll take Barry over Mirko. i think it was in an interview for fight! magazine that barry said in a kickboxing match, he'd beat any ufc heavyweight, and he didn't come off as pompous.

I've got mixed emotions about this. I'd love to see Crocop make a comeback and start kicking the **** out of everyone the way he did a few years ago. Hell, there's nothing in MMA that I'd rather see than Brock Lesnar eating a kick like the one that dropped Silva in the Grand Prix. Unfortunately I don't think that's realistic though. The sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach tells me that it's probably better if Crocop just retires so we can remember how awesome he was without watching him devolve into a mediocre fighter. Here's to hoping he proves me wrong about that.

    Mirko confirmed the fight.

WTF... Give the man a wrestler to beat up.
