Not really. First of all the underhook is there to block taking the back. Second when he switches his hips he puts pressure on the opponents leg and traps it there. Watch the Chim pass because it is very well explained. That being said I have never personally done this pass before, but I have seen the chim pass vid

it just seems to me that all the guy has to do is shuck the underhook and your back is there. If you have the underhook dug in tight that is all well and good, but if you are only applying pressure with your shoulder and the arm isn't buried, it seems like reversing from there would be easy. Just the $.02 of a guy who has been out of the game for several months, i could be way off base

Uncle Skippy let me know about this last week. I took it to my instructor and worked on it. If you can flatten the guy's shoulders it works - but I rushed putting my knee through which put me in half-guard a lot.
Another problem was putting my weight up too high on the shoulders. I ended up getting bridged off and having to scramble.
It won't be my go-to pass when I have standing pass options but it's not a total dud either. -

Then make sure you dont lose the underhook. Every pass has a danger one way or the other if you do it incorrectly, thats why the technique is important. But we all know that.it just seems to me that all the guy has to do is shuck the underhook and your back is there.
I have never done this pass, i'm going to try it out later on. I'm sure i can find some unsuspecting soul to get me in guard...
