National Geographic: Self Defense, Full Program

The latest installment of the "Fight Science" series, Nat Geo tackles a number of self defense techniques and their effects on the human body.

So just how accurate and legitimate is any of this? The first Fight Science was pretty terribly done as far as research is concerned, and I didn't really expect this one to be much better. They do bring in Bas and a Krav Maga guy, but some of the other techniques seem questionable to me. Normally, I'd chalk it up to "edutainment," but when dealing with this kind of subject matter, I'm afraid that if someone does find out that this is BS, it'll probably be too late for them.

i've seen this episode. from what i recall, mostly terrible techniques.

In regards to the techniques tested on the ballistic dummies with fake bones, they had a guy that's bigger and in better shape than the average guy to perform them. I bet a 125 pound woman wouldn't even come close to doing the same damage.

Also, just to point out, Epic Beard Man can easily withstand a stun gun.
