Style: Aikido/Judo/BJJ/Naginata--
I'd still want to keep more distance between myself and a zombie. Remember, one bite and it's over.
A trained Naginata player is fast and accurate as hell. I still think a halberd of any sort would be best. You can also hit with the butt of the pole-arm, giving you slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning all in one.
And as I've stated before, if you've trained in any of the Japanese weapon sports, you'll have a decent set of armor for protection as well.

There is a smaller "one handed" version of a haligan tool.
Even saw one that had synthetic handle. Which would cut down on weight.

Forgive me for not wading through the 40 pages. Has anyone mentioned Gool-Jitzu? I had the good fortune of interviewing the inventors of this martial art specifically designed for use against zombies. It includes recognition, rules of engagement, knowledge, and technique.
