A new find with some interesting possibilities:

18" seems a little short for zombies, but might be handy. Plus, it certainly seems like a good basis for building one of those trench clubs I posted earlier.18" long Tire Knocker is made of sturdy hickory
Use for thumping truck tires to determine tire pressure. A nylon cord is provided to secure tool to your hand. Made in USA.
WARNING: Tire Knocker, when stored in the cabin area of a vehicle, may be considered by law enforcement officials as a concealed dangerous weapon. Please review appropriate State laws. -

I pilfered this from the Western MA forum
it may intereset you"The footpad and the Cane" - Irish stick fighting as self defense
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/jimmy_f...an/wittman.htm
Very interesting little article from a San Francisco newspaper in 1905, describing how to use a cane in self defense. If we can take the author's word for it, this method s based on traditional Irish stick fighting; the grip he describes definitely is typical of shillelagh technique. -

Oh, I saw that; but thank you. If this sort of thing interests you, consider using the search function in that forum. They've discussed shillelagh fighting quite a bit there.
Any thoughts on the possibility of an unbroken shillelagh lineage floating around Erie? I don't think I'll have a chance to look into this while I'm there. I'm more likely to encounter evidence of an unbroken bar-fighting tradition. -

Throw in a few shields and your cooking with gas.
Got a full set of ex cop riot armour from e bay. 40th birthday present. very nice. With body armour on and visor down I am pretty much invulnerable to blows and blunt weapons. My birthday party was protesters v's riot police. It was exhilerating to be able to just absorb punnishment that would have put me on my arse, even in hospital.
Back of the legs and buttocks vulnerable to crawling Zedz.
Bit in the arse, what a way to go!
