    Historical firearms?

    Hi

I've been trying to track down a reasonably priced reproduction of a flintlock firearm that would've been used in America around the 18th century, specifically a long arm. My budget isn't very much right now, under $400. Almost all the ones I've come across are $700 and up.
Granted I could get a "modern" firearm for that much but it's not what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know business that makes them and sells for around $375?

You can't get much of anything for that price, except for World War II surplus.

Try gunbroker, you'll probably be able to find some good leads on manufacturers if you look through the listings.

Try Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops. Both carry ( or did) flintlock kits.

Gallery of Guns is great, it has a great flintlock catalog

Generally BP firearms are way cheaper than modern guns. At least, repro's are. Percussion cap guns are much easier to find, of course. Start with Cabelas, though they are going to have mostly percussion cap, I think they do have some flintlock stuff.

I've seen repros of Hawkins .50 rifles for under $300. This was at a gunshow though. But they can be found if your google-fu is strong.
