The man they call FoM

I've always wondered about that.
My girlfriend buys the celebrity trash mags and they always seem to be holding cups of coffee the same size as their arm.
We don't have that in Australia. Whats up with that ?
The Wastrel - So attractive he HAS to be a woman.

I disagree. Americans (and Australians) are fat because they eat too much fat, mainly saturated fat.
Why is 10 calories of fat more fattening than 10 calories of non-fat?

Total cholesterol befrore Atkins - 200
After Atkins for 3 months - 167
HDL (good) cholesterol before Atkins - 33
After Atkins for 3 months - 43
LDL (bad) cholesterol before Atkins - 106
After Atkins for 3 months - 102
Weight loss of 32 pounds in 3 months.
All that on a low carb diet, imagine that. Is it possible the medical community could be wrong?
I'll let the numbers above speak for me
OBTW, the Atkins diet emphasizes eating lots of veggies as well as protein and fat. My blood work results improved while eating eggs and sausage, beef, pork, chicken, salads with real dressing all the foods the medical community says will increase cholesterol and triglycerides and KILL you. My doctor told me I added another 10 years to my life, hardly sounds like I'm knocking at deaths door by eating this way. One more thing Dr. Atkins weighed 195 pounds the day he was brought into the hospital, the weight gain reported in the hatchet job was attributed to fluid retention and his heart condition was due to a viral infection and not his diet.
just some 'low carb' food for thought.
I'm glad that diet worked for you...and now that you are 32 pounds leaner you should change your diet again and eat more healthy. Continuing your meat binge is not the long term answer.
And I'd say that lack of exercise is as much a reason for Americans being fat as what we eat.

I just watched the news that says "research now shows that low carb diets are unhealthy because they don't allow strawberries" and they went on to talk about how strawberries have anti oxidants and vitamin C, etc.
How many fat people were consuming strawberries in the first place? Chances are most fatties only eat strawberries when they're on top of shortcake. The media trying to making seem as if "dangerous" low carb diets are preventing the consumption of strawberries.
Such as thou art, sometime was I.

People with their "carbs this" and "carbs that" have already become equally as obnoxious as the other fad diets.
On another note, FoM, Americans do eat too much carbohydrates. I've seen people eat platefuls of pasta with bread, potatoes...ugh. But they also eat 2-3 500-700 calorie donuts for breakfast, 1100 calorie ice cream "flurries"...It's maddening.
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

And let's assume the fat slob ISN'T a pleasure-eater, the quick digestion of carbs DO make someone legitimatly hungry again rather quickly.
Neutral, or nearly so

And I saw a study recently that found that carbohydratye calorie intake has increased over the last thirty years. Women now consume an additional amount of carb calories that is equivalent in calories to an extra Egg McMuffin a day. Men eat about half as much more.
