Sydney/Canberra Meetups.

Anyone up for a short sparring session in either sydney or canberra? I'm in canberra but I go to sydney quite often so its no big deal.

I don't really know of any places to do it though so... comments? suggestions?

I'm only 165cms and 70kgs with no sparring experience and not much training, but lots and lots of watching bruce lee, jackie chan, jet lee, donnie yen movies.

If you want I can inform you of the next open mat at Elements Gym in Mitchell. It's open to anyone who wants to come along actually, runs for a couple of hours and is $5.

You can do whatever too, stand up, BJJ, both, etc.

Have a chance? It won't be a chance, its a guarantee! But who knows, I've never sparred before - anything can happen!

Sammo Hung is my secret character, I must train religiously with the others first before I can train with the big Hung. After I train with Hung and defeat him I will unlock Gouki, you don't wanna mess with the Gouk!

Well there WILL be a Kyokushin tournament this year in ACT (there's one every year) I still have the Lightweight title, but I only consider that title until the next match (then no one has it) :)

Kyokushin tournaments are a lot of fun, and always open to other styles wanting to compete by the rules they've set. So I can let you know about that too if you'd like.

As for the open mats, well just about every public holiday we have one.

I think the next one is in March (Labour day?) I know there's one shortly after that at some point too. I'll give as much notice as possible.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd if people are coming from far away ... ... I'll buy you beer or drink or whatever after wards :)

I've seen some kyokushin tourneys, they look kinda painful haha getting kicked in the head doesn't sound all that fun. But I might come and have a watch and make bets on who I think will win. I think the next public holidays is 8th of march, Canberra day! haha
