Reason: tournament date change
Can't wear my rashguard under my Gi? Any chance you'll tell me why not?
Also, butt scooting is considered stalling? So if I pursue my opponent across the ring via butt scoot and he runs away *I* get a penalty for stalling?
It says you can wear a tight fitting rash guard under the gi, but no T shirts. That's strange, I'd also like an explanation.
I would also like a very detailed explanation of why butt scooting is considered stalling.
Actually, reading the rules PDF it says "No T-shirts OR RASHGUARDS are to be worn underneath the kimono (except in female divisions)".

D'oh, I see what you are referring to now. Silly me, I assumed that the rules on the website and pdf would be identical.

Anyone competed in a "Madison system" before? Is it fair?
US Grappling is running a submission only event on the 13th over in Savannah, I was considering that because those guys run a good operation, and free room/board at my parent's place. Can't now, because I just got assigned to this damn fool audit over that weekend. www.usgrappling.us

The same thing happened to me at my last (and first) comp, they ended up combining several weight classes in multiple events, since it was a smaller meet.
I don't care about that so much, I just want to know why I can't wear my rashguard under my Gi and buttscoot my way to victory. Without a sufficient answer to that question I will not be attending this tournament and will instead continue to devote myself to winning medals at NAGA.
Rashguards are allowed to be worn under the gi. T-Shirts are not because the hand can feed into the t-shirts creating a different grip than with the gi collar alone. With the rashguard under the gi there is not a problem with grippling the collar since it fits tight to the body.
Butt-scooting backwards would be considered stalling. Butt-scooting and pursuing your oppenent forward would not be stalling.
Excellent, you should change the wording on your rules pages then to note that "Retreating from your opponent" is stalling, no matter how you are doing it. And to clarify that Rashguards under the Gi are OK, but T-shirts are not.
That being said, if these are regular events in the area I might attend a few in place of the Lutadore tournaments I had previously wanted to attend. Do you have a complete schedule of events for tournaments in Georgia?
