greese1, oh yeah lets just elminate is because the refs suck, i mean that wouldn't kill the art. better yet lets just make it so that both people walk out grab ahold fall down and whoever yells the loudest gets it.
osu, tv is the reason they are down on ground work. they are trying to make it interesting to watch and quick, luckily there is a decent facton that is attempting the opposite, makeing it easy for groundwork.

Yeah Cammarillo is only a top level compeitor in Judo and BJJ.
What would he know about the situation? And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

WHAHAHA I hope you're not serious greese. I don't even practice judo but the idea of eliminating newaza in judo is propably the stupidest suggestion of a change in any MA I've ever heard. While most styles and MA practioners are trying to expand their art or own experience you would actually want to limit judo more by eliminating newaza? That would be the end of judo's success and reputation.

Camarillo's point was that the newaza level of judo (and the knowledge of ref's) is going down so much that there isn't much point to keep. Also, because the ref's know so little the often times end up endangering the competitors (he's been restarted after tapping people and some people may start opting to just break the arm of the person so as to get the win). You want some birth control? You can smoke a cigarette.

My biggest complaint is that having someone mounted on your back while you are face-down is not considered a pin or even a very bad position.
