St. Augustine, Florida: Relson Gracie St. Augustine
Rhalan Gracie, who is the only son of Relson Gracie runs this Academy and teaches all the classes. Having competed and won in various sport jiu-jitsu tournaments, Rhalan decided to enter his first no-holds-barred match while still a teenager.
The classes are well structured, but the environment is super friendly and relaxed. You're guaranteed to have a good time every class while learning great Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Rhalan teaches with an emphasis on Self-Defense and likes to open each class by teaching a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Self-Defense technique that was developed by his Grandfather Helio Gracie. Rhalan is very careful not to let his school drift away from the most important aspect of training Jiu-Jitsu which is Self-Defense!
With that said Rhalan is also a top competitor and recognizes the benefits of competing for those who are interested. This is why the rest of the class is geared towards solid competitive Relson Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. Rhalan was a finalist in the IBJJF Mundials last year (2009), and took 2nd Place in the Brown Belt Medium-Heavyweight Division.
All students who sign up at Relson Gracie St. Augustine now will also be able to train Unlimited Classes at the Relson Gracie Jacksonville location which is run by 5x World Champion Daniel Moraes! Daniel and many of his students are often present for classes at Relson Gracie St. Augustine.
