They have both done themselves in against each other with ignorance and stupidity. The difference is Mir has had more than a dozen fights, so what the **** is his excuse?
I just see Lesnar as too big, strong, and fast for Mir. In my eyes Lesnar was pounding the hell out of Mir in both fights, Mir just pulled through and took advantage of a rookie mistake on Lesnar's part in their first fight.

I'm not dismissing Mir's talent or exerience, and frankly I hate Lesnar. I just think he's too much of a monster for Mir to handle. And like I said, the prospect of Mir maybe pulling a sub...not that enticing. I'd simply rather see another matchup.

Lesnar's improving, and Mir's just getting larger...I give the net advantage to Lesnar.

So ... how is getting caught in a kneebar by a black belt in BJJ a rookie mistake? I honestly thought it was an awesome submission.

As for the rubber match (which will happen one day I'm sure). It's hard to back one over the other. I'd like to think that Mir would come in with a better strategy, but then again I'd expect money bags Lesnar to be very well prepared too. I'm not sure if we'd see the same fight.

Lesnar's mistake wasn't getting caught by a skilled guy, it was standing up and leaving that leg wide open for someone who knows how to take advantage. Top that with not knowing how to counter and I find the word "rookie" applicable. For a professional fighter, it's a relatively simple counter - I mean I know how to alleviate pressure from a kneebar, and I suck on the ground. Don't get me wrong, it was a smart attack and a great result, but had Lesnar stayed sprawled on top and kept banging Mir's head in, it would have ended differently (according to my trusty Magic 8 Ball).

Yeah, so the next time a world-class heavyweight BJJ black belt tries to kneebar you, you just utilise your amazing white belt skills and shrug it off.

I really don't see why people seem intent on shitting over Mir's submission of Lesnar - He's one of the best heavyweight BJJ specialists, yet some people continue to insist that he "got lucky" against Lesnar in the first fight. Mir seems to be real underappreciated for some reason. No idea why.

How about because 1 year later, he tried the exact same move and got fucking owned. Not only he not get it, but he was fucking stupid enough to actually think that the ONE FUCKING THING Lesnar MAY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON SINCE THEIR LAST FIGHT IS KNEEBAR DEFENSE!!!!

Attempt 1, gets punched to ****, goes for the kneebar, and finishes the fight. Attempt 2, gets punched to ****, GOES FOR THE SAME FUCKING MOVE, gets stuffed and pounded to within an inch of his life.

can't wait for Mir/Carwin to see who Brock gets first. There are 6 good HW's in the UFC now and the next year is going to be a blast seeing who comes out on top.

I mean in general - Mir always seems to have been underrated, in spite of him quite obviously being a very skilled fighter.

"simple counter for a professional fighter" isn't the same as "I'd do better than Lesnar".

Did I say I'd shrug off a kneebar from a pro fighter of any sort? No. I know how to alleviate pressure from a kneebar. Do you really think that's the same thing?
