And this is precisely why I'm so incredibly stoked about living in Hawaii...

Matt, where are you going to be stationed/living?
Not sure yet... Either Schofield Barracks or Fort Shafter. I don't really care either way, though the bulk of the research and planning I've been trying to do has been centered around a Schofield Barracks final destination.

I've already contacted the Salle Honolulu (I've got an interest in fencing), I already know some folks who used to be in the Sil Lum Fut Ga school under Sifu Arthur Lee, and I've bookmarked the locations of 3 Irish pubs, a dozen sushi shops, several pho restaurants, some hobby shops, a gun store (Magnum Guns and Range), etc. I am seriously excited about getting there, getting moved in, set up, and getting out to explore!

The only down-side is that I'm only going to get a few more months of training with Kelly Worden before I move... :icon_sad: I'm going to have to find a way to get some folks interested in hosting a seminar visit from Kelly. I don't think I'd have to work very hard to get him to come for a visit, but I'd feel bad capitalizing on his time by forcing him to teach me in exchange for a visit... That just seems effed up somehow.

Sounds like you've done your homework!
I can point you to a few places you are gonna wanna check out for sure.
Magnum's owner got into some legal trouble last year, dunno what became of it though..

You will likely be right in Meex's neighborhood so he might be able to show you some stuff close by.

I've been trying to get smart about this move ever since ever since... Once I found out I was confirmed to go, I was all over the internet looking stuff up. The google-fu is strong with this one, so I managed to dig up some good info straight away. That being said, you can't go wrong with the guidance provided from someone already on the ground...

It's out in the middle of the bay, but i can probably arrange a boat trip/bar b q type thing if you're interested.
I also have connections at a bunch of the touristy type destinations so let me know before you buy any event tickets or whatever.
Sure, I'd love have a BBQ, but I also hate the idea of people getting stuff on just for me. So, you know, if Bullies together is an excuse to party and not an obligation, I'm all for it. I don't think people should have to be hospitable :-).

I've already got tickets for shark thing on the North Shore, that was my splurge for the trip. I'm not into doing the touristy stuff, I just want to wander around and go to the museum and such, which I didn't get to do last time.

    And hang out.
    Monkey Ninjas! Attack!
