I was expecting Roger Gracie to maybe make an appearance in the UFC sometime this year. He is one of the most decorated BJJer's alive and has had 2-3 MMA wins. Like Rolles he's also a 6ft 4in HW

Roger fights at -97kg in the gi with a same day weigh in, if he were going to make a serious run at MMA it'll most likely be at LHW.

According to Wiki he's 220lb but even so that's light for a HW so LHW would make more sense.
I for one would be excited to see some Gracie's back in the UFC

Randy 'The Natural' Couture vs Mark 'The Hammer' Coleman
cardio problems? maybe, maybe not. i think Coleman saw Couture take some body shots in his fight with Vera, and has a gameplan of wrestling plus working the body. ud.

Nate 'The Great' Marquardt vs Chael Sonnen
i agree, not sure what made Sonnen a fight away from a title shot besides not signing to Strikeforce. ud.

Mike 'Quick' Swick vs Paulo Thiago
i'm banking on the hopes that Swick has been training his takedown defense thoroughly, because he'll need it against Thiago. If Paul Daley showed us anything, it's that every fight starts standing. tko.

    Demian Maia vs Dan Miller
Maia painfully realizes he doesn't need to showcase his weaknesses, but still works on becoming well rounded. submission.

Matt 'The Terror' Serra vs Frank 'Twinkle Toes' Trigg
I liked Serra's hands, and i don't believe Trigg's wrestling is as good as Hughes. ko.

    Mac Danzig vs Justin Buchholz
    Purely based on name recognition.

Melvin 'The Young Assassin' Guillard vs Ronys Torres
Nate Diaz made Guillard look terrible. Scanning Torres' mma record, he's only been to decision twice in 15 pro fights, so dude knows how to finish.

Phillipe 'The Filipino Assassin' Nover vs Rob 'The Saint' Emerson
Double KO, a la Emerson/Maynard. HA!

Brian 'All American' Stann vs Phil 'Mr. Wonderful' Davis
Read a "prospect to watch" piece (i think in Fight! magazine) about how Davis is a guy to watch. i'm even abandoning my UFC debut theory on this fight (see below)

Tim 'The Thrashing Machine' Hague vs Chris 'The Crowbar' Tuchscherer
Tuchshcserhschser. what kind of heart does it take to get kicked full on in the balls by Gonzaga and keep going? more than what i might have. and my ufc theory: many fighters will lose their UFC debut, but win their second outing. this is Chris' second outing.

Mostapha Al Turk vs Rolles Gracie Jr
I don't think Al-Turk is a can, as I can understand losing to Kongo, and getting an eyeful of Cro Cop's fingers would mess with anyone's gameplan, i just think he doesn't have enough ground game to withstand Gracie.

According to the scales at the Mundials he's -97kg wearing a gi just before stepping on the mat.

and 205 is roughly 93kg, so 220 is probably close.

Well, that and Okami. He had a good outing in that fight and if anyone was in line after Marquardt and Henderson for the title, it was those two. If Okami would have won, he would be fighting Marquardt for a title shot. Instead Sonnen gets it. Marquardt needed a fight since Henderson bailed and Silva isn't ready to fight yet. This way, Marquardt really proves he's No. 2 in the division and Sonnen gets the opportunity to take that spot away from him.

Not too interested in the card overall. Honestly Couture fight is the only one that interesting me, and even then it's a mild interest. I'll pick Couture over Coleman. I'm waiting for them to bring Pat Barry back since he's all healed up now; now there's an exciting fighter to watch.

I always dig seeing Heavyweight matches.

Al Turk has had a helluva time in the UFC. I know they were going to give him one more shot after the Cro Cop fight- ESPECIALLY after the eye poke, but damn. First Cup Check-o who drills him twice, and then Cro Cop, who buries a finger in his eye socket?

    Poor dude.

Also, in another sympathy match, Tuchscherer gets rewarded for trying to fight through a NASTY groin shot with Gonzaga, with a second chance.

As for Pat Barry, I hope he takes a little more time off to try and develop some Takedown defense. Exciting fighter, yes, but choice pickings for a grappler.
