I didn't think of it when they showed Gomi, but I noticed Mir kept up a smile that looked more and more fake as he kept glancing towards the octagon, trying to send a "subtle" signal to the cameraman. I just thought, what the **** is wrong with the editing of this show? Even just sweeping across the audience is better and adds more to the show than a solid minute of an increasingly strained smile of some fighter.

On the subject of Gomi, I loved him back in his Pride days, would love to see what he can bring. Unfortuately I think it's a little too late. Not going to count him out yet though.

Gomi fought BJ before his peak, it was before he joined Pride. Back then he was a one dimensional wrestler, not the knockout artist he later became. BJ never fought Gomi in his prime and its too late now.

In preparation for his last few fights Gomi has been training with some teenage wrestling teams and spending more time in the bar than in the gym. Lets hope he gets motivated by the challenge of going back to the UFC, I hear he has started training at AKA which is a good thing.

Also quit with the whole "BJ used to not train at all" BS, are you really eating that **** up from Goldberg? BJ has always trained hard, the whole thing is a just an excuse for his lackluster performances in the past.

**** Gomi, I have no appreciation for guys with talent that don't train.

He's like a young BJ Penn just minus the submission skills and some okay fights/KO's when he actually bothered to train. I used to think BJ was a douche before the GSP fight but after watching how well he's performing I have new found respect for him. Gomi on the other hand needs to GTFO and stay in Japan riding his career as a pretty boy while bitch slapping weak competition (hey it worked for Masato in K-1 after he retired).

I can't fucking stand watching him fight.

Does this mean we get to see Aoki vs Penn in three years?

Nah, fighters from Japan usually get signed 10 years passed their prime. So we can expect seeing Aoki in the UFC when he´s around 40.

A little off topic, but I have to ask: is it common for Japan to pit its good fighters against mainly cans? It seems like every fight Aoki has is against someone who doesn't stand a chance.
