Is that physique impossible by natural means?

What makes me sceptical is not the dose of his growth, which I have not seen on any pro fighter since I follow the sport.

What makes me suspicious is the rate of his fights. Even though his last fights were pretty easy, how does he recover so easily?!

I mean, he fought seven times in 2009 without any hint of fatigue or taking any recovery time. This is either very exceptional, or, considering the many forms of doping that plague other, more popular sports, a matter of drugs.

To be fair, he finished his three MMA fights in 2009 within the first two minutes, and being a heavyweight he doesn't have to worry about cutting weight. Also, only two of his K-1 matches went the distance (3x3 min. rounds), and both fights were separated by a span of roughly six months.

Whats even better than the myth around Fedor is the "YEAH HE'S A MEAN OLD RUSSIAN AND HE TOOK THE UFC FIGHTERS JERBS!" attitude his detractors have.

Good point you make there, I stand partly corrected.

Still, growth + fight rate + reluctance to fight in the US --> Very suspicious.

If Overeem's growth can be explained by natural reasons, better for him, and for the sport.

The thing that worries me is that Overeem is starting to resemble a Rob Liefeld illustration brought to life. Pretty soon he'll be eight feet tall with a shrunken head and a face tighter than Roy Nelson's bike shorts.

See, Rob Liefeld can't draw feet, so he hides them behind random **** to avoid having to do so. Thus: no one he draws seems to have any feet, as even if they are visible they're just little triangles that kind of look like snoopy when he looks straight up

Overeem has gone from being a medium sized Light Heavyweight to a HUGE heavyweight in just a few years. He could (probably) have gained the weight naturally but his reluctance to fight regularly in the US seems to be telling.
