This is one that Nino Schembri likes. It can work, but I won't be using it anytime soon.
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

That's crazy I learned a standing/squatting version of that choke years ago in Muay Thai / Lerd-rit. Never seen it anywhere else until today.

I think it's one of those things that most people won't be able to do at all, but some people (like Nino Schembri) will pull on everyone.

Never really seen that done before, I suppose it could work... but lik eyou said the left arm is free, so he could most likely either block it or counter attack easily. -although if it were me, they hold me back so far with their chokes, that my arms can't reach anything anyway.-

If you break both his arms, it will work just fine.

Is it primarily for sub wrestling tourney's?
If so the free hand is rather moot.

i would think that you could use your free hand to break his grip on his toes rather easily
