I didn't know Sotiropolous used to be a banker.
They seem really REALLY biased against it, even though they tried to present both sides.
"...called human cockfighting...not for the faint of heart...the more blood, the better..."
Fair and balanced?

They present both sides, yes, but they present both sides from an uninformed position. From what I can tell from a previous article (which I refuted in a letter to the editor, which remains unpublished) SMH's journalists know nothing about the state of MMA and thus resort to using terminology of septic tank politicians like McCain.
I predict a lot of chest puffing, calls for the sports minister to be sacked for allowing it and possible demonstrations by "violence against women- Australia says No" activists claiming all sorts of unsubstantiated bullshit about increases in violence (I also predict "won't somebody think of the children" hysteria).
All this will happen, the event will be a success translating into dollars for the tourism industry and as the big show hits the road all the backbenchers looking for a political leg up will sit back down and whack off while listening to our PM drone on about climate change.
We will see an increase in attendance to our gyms/ schools for a few months, a few guys will stick with it, some girls. In the long run it won't change much about how most of us live except in twenty years time when I am watching the equivalent to UFC 1000, I'll be able to tell my son that I was at the first UFC held in Australia.

I want Crocop to win, but I know I'm going to set myself up for disappointment again. Every Crocop fan is like a battered housewife who always goes back to him hoping everything will be different this time, knowing full well it won't.

I will hold my little red and white checkered flag on this night when cro cop fights. I don't care what happens to him, he is still my hero and I will still root for him. Forever and ever I will root for him. My flag is little, but my support is sincere.

I'm really happy the tickets are selling so fast, this means good things for MMA in Aus. **** everything else, this is good news in a list of shitty things (**** you, internet censorship). This can only go well in promoting MMA and the sport in Aus, and hopefully draw more people to smaller events like RIZE and others. More people competing, better range of skills, more skillful developments, better fights!
Sucks tickets are so pricey, but hopefully I might make it to the next one =3.Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.
Miyagi: Feeling correct.
Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.
Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.
