Meh, say whatever you want about your Yoga, Sambo, fitness and et al, but once you go the paramilitary angle I get actually upset. People I know/knew served/died. Only a righetous-ass goes as far as faking-up military credentials.

I'm jumping to conclusions here, but given who we're talking about, photoshopped certificates are no suprise.There had better be some good reason for this latest round of wiki-bio-padding...

LOTAR is the acronym for counter-terrorism in Hebrew, directly translated as "Combat-Terrorism". The LOTAR school is the Counter-Terrorism, sharpshooting and snipers school in the IDF, they do courses and seminars to other units as well as train their own instructors.
That's whose certificate this guy is presenting.

I wrote a lengthy post about it in the previous page, it is sort of plausible, there are some odd things about it.
but it is very common that if somebody does a seminar or training session with an army unit here they give him a thank you letter like this. That could explain the poor grammar in the English part, since he could have had it very badly translated (by say Google translator).
The rest of the Hebrew is from top to bottom:

the school for counter-terrorism, sharpshooting and snipers.

name, rank and position for the head of krav maga at the school (on right)
name, rank and position for the head of the whole school. (on left) - *I'm pretty sure I met this guy.

I think i posted all my qualms in my previous post, I'll gladly translate other stuff as well and other questions regarding this stuff as i served there for a while. hope this helps.

*edit: in case this wasn't clear, this page is NOT A CERTIFICATE, it is a thank you letter you print as a token of appreciation, if its real, that is.

At this point, unless it can be proved that Sonnon never taught such a course, I'd say he's OK with the LOTAR doc. As far as I can tell, there are pics of him teaching the course, and he refers to it as a "Commendation".

The Master of Sport diploma is a whole 'nother story.

Is there anyway you could check with the school for us, and simply ask: "Is this one of your certificates?" and then confirm.

1) What Sonnon Did for them?

2) Do they have a position on him using this experience to say he has counter-terrorism experience?

Also, assuming he did perform some service for them, are the names on the document the correct ones?

So, the question needs to be asked: If Sonnon got a thank you letter, why not simply scan and post that. Why create a new one?..if that is what he did.

I too would love to get a LOTAR confirmation on the document.

The Honorable Master of Sport Document is another deeper mess. So much work done on it?! Again, if he had a legit one, why not scan and post that? Unless there is no original.

Furthermore, if Sonnon has a Master of Sport from the ASF (which is acknowledged), why not just scan and post that one?

OK, in case nobody noticed, Sonnon has obviously read this thread. The images he has uploaded have apparently changed based on our comments:

Original LOTAR cert:

New cert, with new signatures (that seem to be done by the same hand with the same pen):

Old Honorable Master of Sport Cert:

New Honorable Master of Sport Cert, with now missing borders, light pattern problems gone to the naked eye, etc

Scott, since you are clearly reading this, can you please explain?
