Ok, his performance looks good, but I have never heard of this competition. Sonnon is wearing a USA logo so I assume he was “selected” for this team. What team is this? What is the record and background of his competitors? What are the rules of this tournament? The caption says 2010 World Games yet it looks like it took place in a high school gym with only a few people attending. It does not look anything like MMA , so I do not know quite what to make of this presentation.

I googled and found that at http://www.worldmartialartsgames.com/ it describes the “World Martial Arts Games” held in Las Vegas. It looks like a mixture of traditional stylist. I have never heard of it till now. I will let you all make up your own minds about the significance of this event.

This is an info dump because WOMA (World Organization for Mixed Martial Arts) is pretty interesting.

This is why the video bothered me. It looked like point fighting MMA but, I wasn't sure. Now I am.The World Martial Arts Games Committee will host their 5th World Martial Arts Games in Las Vegas, USA September 17 to 19. The Games will be held under the Patronage of TAFISA and Secretary-General Wolfgang Baumann will be on hand for the Offiical Opening. Good work It is fake.
I would still like to know the actual identity of therma.
Normally I would not write anything about someone having a victory in a no contact tournament. However, Sonnon has held his training methods up as better than what other coaches offer. He has specifically put down crossfit and barbell training. He has been around a long time, and if he is going to put himself out as the best I would like to see some proof. By now either he or one of his students should have racked up some real MMA victories.
I am getting tired of his misleading marketing hype. -
